What happened this week?
Student Leaders
Our leaders were presented with their badge at assembly today. This is quite an official and symbolic gesture because it represents the importance we place in their role.
Tim Bull was very happy to be at our school again. He enjoyed looking at the new building and to interact with our leaders in such way,. He reminded them of the importance of the role of a leader and I am certain they will all do a wonderful job and hold these positions seriously.
Visits from little chickens!
We have some chickens already at school, but it’s always interesting to see the reaction and interactions of students with baby animals. Today, Cedric’s dad, David came to the prep/1 room, with some little chicks so students could see them.
Megan Holt, their teacher, took this opportunity as a prompt for our learners to complete some writing. The results did not disappoint! I think a chick must have give them all some good entertainment!
Wednesday activities
We have some photos from our last Wednesday. You can see our group delivering the cards to make people’s day! Harper received a beautiful note to thank her for her card, which is lovely. We cannot thank the Heyfield community enough for the lovely messages we are receiving in return to the students’ cards in the letterboxes. They had the chance to have a little play in the park before returning to school.
Our group of students who visited the Laurina Lodge played some music and danced. This looks like much fun too!
Another group completed a Treasure Hunt throughout the school and had to answer questions or find clues walking around our buildings and grounds.
The wreaths are ready for ANZAC day and you can see some signs wishing everyone a ‘Happy Easter’ in the school grounds.
