What happened this week?
A snapshot around the school…
BIKE ED PROGRAM
Thank you to everyone who helped run the Bike Education program this year. Chantelle Richards has helped us every year and we had the pleasure to have Ella and Finn with us too this time around! Thank you for such great commitment.
Cup Stacking World Record!!
Four residents of Laurina Lodge have set a new world record for cup stacking with young coaches from Heyfield PS. Their time combined of 2.11.590 minutes for stacking 3, 6 and 3 cups. This is going in the category of 75 years old and over. Let’s see if anyone else in the world will want to beat it!
Well done to everyone involved.
T-Ball Game
Our annual Teachers versus Grade 6 students took place yesterday. We followed the tradition set by staff, years ago, and played by our rules, which is always a ‘little’ controversial. Ask Ms Wojcinski, she helped write them!
So, as per usual, teachers won, with the help of some parents who very nicely accepted to join in. It was a real battle getting to the end as students attempted to stop us but we were successful.
Go Teachers!!
Ms Wojo
There was a lot of ‘last’ moments this week for Ms Wojcinski and I believe she enjoyed every minute. Yesterday, she ran through her banner before the traditional t-ball game. Afterwards, besties Jaimee Jones and Emma Wojo challenged some of the grade 6 boys to a game of Basketball. Fair to say, this time, they won without even cheating! They arrived at school this morning feeling a little sore but happy.
Emma, we have so many great memories of our time together and students have too, as they shared it on notes placed in your classroom. You can see this from some photos over the years. We will miss you very much. Don’t be a stranger and pop in to see us all!
Grade 6 Graduation Ceremony
Congratulations to all our graduates for the confidence they displayed when doing their speech at their graduation ceremony. You have all grown in resilient young people and we wish all the best in high school. The theme of the beach, you chose for this event was perfect and Thank you very much to Ann Pritchett, Megan Stone and Bill Smith for setting chairs and organising decorations and cake.
