What happened this week?
Creativity
We often put an emphasis on reading and maths, because they are subjects that are the foundation of many things we do in life, as a young person or an adult. However, what we like to develop too are skills that are related to thinking. By ‘thinking’, we mean ‘problem-solving, reasoning, creating’.
A young man, this week, brought in a truck he created and added a trailer to it. I found this quite creative and clever and with his permission, I thought I would share it here too.
Well done Jett Shillingford! This is a perfect example on how a creative and problem-solver you are!
CROSS COUNTRY
Well done to all runners who participated on Monday in the Heyfield Disctrict Cross Country. I didn’t get to take many photos on the day but congratulations to the four students going to the next level: Peyton Komen, Harper Parsons, Darcey Vanderland and Maggie Smith.
ART room
Students have been busy creating artwork from Prep to grade 6. Feel free to come and have a look at your child’s work, anytime. You are all always welcome.
CRAZY HAIR DAY
We all had great fun looking at each other’s crazy hair. A great fundraising of $112 to go towards Cystic Fybrosis Foundation. Well done and thank you for taking part in it.
Lunchtime funs!
More photos of lunchtime at school.
Jump Rope for Heart
We are halfway through our skipping program. Students are amazing with some jumping using two ropes at once, or jumping together. I truly find this mindblowing! I hope you get to enjoy seeing for yourself on Wednesday 22nd May when we hold our Jump Rope for the Heart Day.
Walk To School Day
Thank you to all staff and parents who walked safely to school with our students this year. There was a little bit of rain coming down, lucky it was crazy hair day! Miss Holt was not too happy when it started spitting!
