What is to celebrate about this past week?
Timber Festival 2022
The whole weekend was a success with many activities on the Saturday and the march on Sunday. Many of our students participated in the parade wearing our school colours and walked proudly behind the quilt handmade and gifted by Noreen Holmes. The Art competition saw a lot of amazing drawings relating to the Timber History of our town The winners received their rewards during our assembly on Friday:
1st Prize: Jack Gell
2nd Prize: Jack Molphy
3rd Prize: Ruby Cassidy
Swimming
Students who won their swimming races at the Heyfield PS Swimming Carnival received their ribbons at our Friday assembly. Nearly all of them represented our school at the District Swimming Carnival on Wednesday 23rd February in Sale. The next stage is the Wellington Network Swimming Carnival.
Anne, our lollypop lady!
Anne has been a lollypop lady for 20 years since Friday. What an achievement! She explained in her speech that she has seen two generations come passed throughout her years. Ex-students now bringing her own children to school. We acknowledged her patience and kindness with a card and some flowers during our assembly.
A very special moment for a very special lady, our lollypop lady!
Student Leadership
Our student leaders were presented their badges by Anne at our Friday assembly. They will start their role officially next week. Students who want to be on our Junior School Council Committee will be required to go through an election process next week. Stay tuned who will be voted in!
