Police information

eScooters

There are several rules that govern the use of these scooters and where they can and CAN NOT be ridden.  I have attached the information from Vic Roads to this email,  The fines can range in the hundreds of dollars for the offences.  Can you please share this information in your newsletter to the students and parents so we can minimise the risk of injury to our community .

It is an offence for any person under the age of 16 to ride one and they are not to be ridden on the footpath at all.

Road rules

Constable Boothman and Constable Butler visited our school to inform us about possible drive by from VicPol to support your child's safety travelling to and from school. We welcome this idea very much and would like to make you aware too. This aligns with our school values of respect and aspire to support others in our community and be good role models.

The police will be looking out for:

  • drivers respecting the speed limit, especially at school times.

  • children being safe in cars, with the appropriate car seats and restraints.

  • cars parked in correct parking spaces (checking intersections, double parking and bus spaces).

  • pedestrians crossing roads at the appropriate school crossings.

  • U-turns performed safely.

  • riders with helmets on.

  • other normal driving rules.
