reporting to parents

Curriculum outcomes for all students are carefully monitored, recorded and reported to parents across each of the four school terms.

In addition to formal opportunities provided for parents to discuss their child’s progress with the teacher at Parent/Teacher interviews, parents are also welcome to visit the school at any time. However, if you wish to talk at length with a teacher regarding your child, please contact the Principal so that a suitable interview time can be arranged.

parent/teacher interviews

To better support students to gain quality feedback on their learning whilst attending Heyfield Primary School, we officially report to families five times per year:

  • Term 1 (early) Welcome - School Barbeque and information sharing evening

  • Term 1 (late) Summary Progress Report

  • Term 2 (late) Full, written Progress Report and Student/Teacher/Parent Conversation

  • Term 3 (late) Summary Progress ReportTerm 4 (late) Full written Progress Report

Having these reporting opportunities, the school believes, allow all parties (students, parents and teachers) to know with greater clarity exactly how the student is tracking; both with their learning and with their attitude to school.

naplan testing

Each May students in Year 3 & 5 participate in National Naplan testing in Language Convention, Writing, Reading and Numeracy. Families of students involved in this receive a standardized report which gives additional information regarding student achievement.
